SHEQ
SHEQ is an abbreviation for safety, Health, Environment and Quality. A concrete policy regarding these points is a must for our organization. Not only because society demands this of us, but also because operating in sectors such as the dangerous goods branch would be impossible without a clearly defined SHEQ policy.
In order to keep the policy alive within the company a special logo has been designed, with an active dialog towards the employees. In the logo each letter has its own color. The colors were chosen especially. Each color has its own characteristic and this is in turn linked to the subject.
Safety
The S of safety is the biggest letter with the most noticeable color. That is not without reason. Safety is a very important subject and can be found back in quality, labour and environment.
We have our own, in house safety officer. As well by way of a Risk Inventory Evaluation (RIE) procedure we can identify where improvements can be made. Progress with regard to the RIE can be found noted in the annual Safety Report.
Health
A good working environment works to the advantage of both the employee and the employer. The employee wants to remain healthy while the employer is well served by personnel who are able and willing to perform their duties. We try to create a good working environment for all our employees. By being careful in choosing materials, personal equipment and providing a suitable working area, be it in the office, the grounds the garage or the vehicle wash area.
By maintaining personal contact we are always well informed regarding our employees. In the event of an illness we involve ourselves and try to help. If required we will participate in the re-integration of an employee after a spell of absence.
Environment
When we speak of the environment one often thinks of durability and the quality of life. But it's about taking responsibility so that we can offer hope and a perspective to the generations who will follow. Jongeneel Transport recognizes its responsibilities and makes its own contributions.
It's the small things that count, for example recycling waist paper, but also looking into ways that we can drive more economically thus saving the environment and at the same time reducing costs.
On a social level we recognize our responsibilities too. For example making our vehicles available and providing fuel for good causes. They may be small contributions but together they do make a difference.
Quality
Quality has always been high on the list of priorities at Jongeneel Transport. Already in 1992 we obtained ISO-9002 certification, at that time we were one of a few in the transport sector.
In 2003 we obtained ISO-9000-2001 certification. In 2007 we have again been certificated, this confirms that our company has developed in quality conform to the demands of the times. Besides our ISO certifications our company is also assessed for SQAS. During this audit our service is completely tested on safety and quality. The results of this audit are available on request.
SQAS provides a tool to assess the quality, safety and environmental management systems of logistics service providers in a uniform manner by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire. In this way, SQAS avoids multiple assessments by individual chemical companies and helps companies to select logistics service providers and define the improvements they wish to see in each case.
In the future we will continue to strive for a better quality of service. A punctual business practice already distinguishes us in the market and supplying a high quality service as part of our strategy forms a perfect match.
